2023 Black History Month Celebration

PUYALLUP PROCLAMATION:

The City Council will be reading a proclamation for Black History Month at the next City Council meeting, which is TOMORROW, Tuesday, 2/7/2023 at 6:30 p.m. in the City Council Chambers! Come stand with us as we accept the proclamation.

OUR HEROES:

For Black History Month 2023, we are partnering with the City of Puyallup and highlighting some of our AMAZING African American residents in their citywide newsletter. The theme is  "Black Empowerment ” and the Trailblazing Leaders in the Black Community who are positively impacting:

 Civic Empowerment - Judge Clarence Henderson

Community Empowerment – Tamar Jackson

Economic Empowerment - Jeff Dade

Educational Empowerment (K12) - Puyallup H.S. Black Student Union

Political Empowerment - Lyle Quasim

Spiritual Empowerment - Pastor Ronelle McGraw, Jr.

 They will be featured in the City of Puyallup’s February Newsletter.
